Why Sun Engineering
Why Sun Engineering
At Sun Engineering, we approach our work in a unique way – we strive for repetition. This allows us to create standards -- an important component of an efficiency-based practice -- for proven, tried and tested systems and methodologies.
We also aim for efficiency through our unique staffing model, which takes advantage of all skill levels as well as advanced technologies. This results in lower costs, reliability and speed, which gives Sun Engineering a competitive edge.
We know what our clients want -- a firm that understands their business, priorities, needs and how to get things done. We have achieved operational excellence by meeting our clients’ needs and delivering quality service and technical expertise.
Overview
Overview
Founded in 1988, Sun Engineering has been providing a wide array of engineering consulting services for clients in the energy sector, including oil and gas, renewable/alternative energy and utility industries.
We offer engineering, design and systems integration services with expertise in conceptual planning, feasibility studies, cost estimating, front end engineering and design, detailed design, automation programming, permitting, procurement, construction management, commissioning and project startup and closeout.
Over the years, we’ve been involved with engineering and design services for oil and gas production facilities, pipelines, refineries, marketing and distribution terminals, solar power, energy storage, compressed natural gas for car fuel, biofuels, onsite power generation, water/waste water, upgrading and replacing automated valves on utility pipelines, just to name a few.
And, we have successfully completed over 2,800 projects while maintaining our zero lost days record.
Leadership
Leadership
Our company leaders, engineers and project managers have extensive experience in many facets of engineering – including electrical, control, automation, civil, structural, mechanical, piping and IT -- with many team members previously working at major energy companies or large engineering consulting firms.
Sustainability
Sustainability
Sun Engineering Founder Eddy Duong has been passionate about projects that utilize science and technology to make our country a better place to live. This has also led to our commitment to sustainable practices in our operations and services to our clients.
Our efforts involve conserving natural resources, promoting environmental stewardship and minimizing our carbon footprint. We also help clients achieve their sustainability goals by incorporating energy efficient designs and conducting energy efficiency studies. These studies have helped them reduce their energy use and receive hundreds of thousands of dollars in energy rebates.
Safety
Safety
Safety is paramount to everything we do. And, we have the numbers to prove it. Throughout our work on more than 2,800 projects in 17 states (including Alaska and Hawaii), we’ve had zero lost days.
Our outstanding safety record is attributed to our commitment to provide a safe working environment, eliminate safety hazards and provide our team with the necessary tools to safely perform their jobs. In addition, we embrace a strong safety culture in which all of our employees undergo routine safety training and are encouraged to contribute to finding creative solutions to improve safety.
We view local, state and federal health and safety laws and regulations as the minimum standards and strive to exceed them where possible. We also subscribe to third-party contractor/supplier compliance records management and auditing services, such as ISNetworld (www.ISNetworld.com) since 2004 and Avetta (www.Avetta.com) since 2003.
